Epson EX5210 MultiMedia Projector

It is probably overstating that I am in love but this is one sweet projector. I pulled it out of the box, read the quick start guide and in a matter of minutes had my laptop screen up to big screen size! Not only that but within that initial 15 minutes I had YouTube videos running on my wall, in a very well light (sunlight bright) room. Within the first 30 minutes I was running Ice Age and feeling pretty darn chipper about the ease of use of this very portable projector.

I'm retired so I don't need this for business. I will use it for presentations now and again but I am more excited about using it as a big screen TV on the occasional shore trip where there are just little tube type TVs. I'm also looking forward to running an outside film fest for the grandkids on the side of the house.

The sound is adequate on the projector but you probably will want to put something beefier on the source to give you better sound. The on screen menu and source selection was self evident and easy to use. Focus and orientation were also a piece of cake. Is it clear I really liked this little fellow? Admittedly I haven't played with one lately but his puppy beats the bejabbers out of the ones I have used previously. Clarity is amazing on a flat white wall, I have to assume a screen would be even better.

It comes with a nice padded case. My only suggestion would be to have another pocket on the case for the cables. It came with VGA and USB, I added to it an SVHS and component, with the power cable you have a bunch of wire, an extra pocket on the case would be handy. If you are actually traveling with this, I'm sure you have a spare pocket on your laptop case for the projector cables.

To summarize, this was extremely easy to setup and get working in a astoundingly short time. I am really going to enjoy using it.

I at first connected my cable box to the EX5210 projector via the S-video connection and was a little concerned since the projected picture was not quite as good as from the same S-video connection on my 6 year old ViewSonic LCD projector. I then connected the EX5210 to my cable box via an HDMI cable. WOW, the projected image was now as crisp, clear, and bright as most flat screen TV's that I have seen in stores. Even though the EX5210 is not a true HD projector, I can't imagine a better picture than this projector produces on my white pull down movie screen. I find the picture to be excellent with the projector in "Eco" mode which extends the life of the bulb. The speaker of this projector is much better than my previous projector but I have chosen to run the sound through my surround system.

My projector is used primarily for watching college and professional level sports and it makes the viewer feel as though though they are at the sporting event. I would highly recommend this projector for such cable TV viewing but only if you are able to connect via the HDMI input. I also connected my laptop to the EX5210 and found the projected computer image to be excellent as well.

My husband spent months trying to convince me that we needed a home theatre in our basement. I spent months trying to convince him that in order to get theatre quality, we would need to spend thousands. I WAS WRONG!! After reading the reviews of many projectors, we settled on the Epson EX5210 Projector.

It was within our budget and had many great reviews! The day we received it we excitedly set everything up. We hooked the Projector up to the Play Station 3 and put in The Lorax (our kids are obsessed with this movie). Our jaws hit the floor when we saw the picture. We called the kids down to see the movie....their expressions were priceless! This projector is everything we wanted and more...AND within our budget!! Now every night is movie night!!
